And Seven becomes Nine!

Yea! We have two new kids.... goats, that is.  My sweet husband has said all along that Grumpy was pregnant. I kept reading that you can't tell because goats have stomachs on their sides. I did suspect that Grumpy looked MUCH bigger than the rest, as does Dopey. Well, he was right! A quick visit to the farm today to update the chicken coop resulted in me exclaiming as we came up the drive, "Look!!!!! Baby goats!"  There was old Grumpy with two little goats at her heels. Cole was right!

So cute and little! Grumpy is a great mommy and rarely let them out of her sight. The little ones followed her around everywhere and she did NOT like anyone (people or goat) getting close to them.

The little kids love their mama! We just melted. As our goats future on Sugar Hill is up for debate, Cole and I looked at each other and said, "We need to talk about the Goats." Especially since Dopey looks ready to drop a kid or two. Grumpy will not let us near her goats and we really, really want animals we can interact with in the future. Right now, we don't know what to do but we're sure it will become apparent over the next few days. The loss of our mule was hard but our donkeys were so happy and more friendly today. We know it was the right decision for the Farm as a whole.

I can't wait to take my son out tomorrow to see the new kids. He missed the Grand Introduction since he was at school. Maybe we can even pet them!!!

We lost a chick yesterday but we gained two new kids today. Life is a revolving circle and on it goes.
